Welcome to the website of the Šumavský Hvozd landseer kennel.
We live in the small town of Nýrsko, also called the Šumava Gate (the Gate to the Šumava mountains), the entrance to the Šumava – Royal Forest.
The year 2019 was a breaking point when after more than 20 years of living with the Slovak guards (Slovenský čuvač) who taught me a lot and still teaches me, Landseer Bubu came to our family.
Bubu is the fulfillment of a girl’s dream and the path to it was paved with patience which was more than rewarded. The intention was not breeding but the potential for the work in canis therapy but above all Bubu is a partner- buddy, a giant with a loving and kind heart. In our spacious garden, Bubu still lives with Batty Jana’s ranch, an almost 13-year-old female Slovak guard and various small animals.
Since last year our common passion has become the training of the water rescue work which has confirmed that the water is a natural element of the Landseer’s life.
And because there are never enough landseers we plan to expand our pack and puppies in the near future.
